South Korea spearheaded the creation of the ISO 23257 international standard for Blockchain and DLT Reference Architecture on February 8th under the ISO TC 307 Blockchain and DLT Technical Committee. O Kyeong Hee, from TCA Services and head of the Distributed Ledger Technology Standardization Forum, played a pivotal role. The standard addresses issues with individual blockchain implementations, offering a foundational framework for universal, scalable, and interoperable systems. It clarifies key blockchain concepts and establishes a hierarchical reference structure, while efforts are being made to adopt it as a national standard in Korea.
