South Korea's proposed ITU-T Smart Contract Security requirements (X.1412) have been pre-adopted as international standards after a three-month opinion collection period among ITU member countries. The requirements aim to address security challenges in managing smart contracts based on distributed ledger technology (DLT) systems. The proposal, presented by Professor Park Yong-bum's team from Dankook University, focuses on enhancing the vulnerability and reliability of smart contract development, deployment, and execution. This marks a significant step as the first international standard for achieving smart contract security. Professor Park plans to use this international standard as a basis for establishing domestic standards in the future.
