Initiation of ISO Information Security Management System-based Blockchain Security Standard Research

In June 13th, Korea led a preliminary study on the ISO/IEC 27002-based blockchain service security control standard, which was approved by the ISO TC 307 Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) Technical Committee. The driving force behind this research, representative Oh Kyeong hee of TCA Services, is also the Research Director of the ISACA Korea Chapter, and is part of an international standard development project supported by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Resources. This initiative is part of her efforts to lead the development of blockchain security standards in ITU-T SG 17 as the rapporteur for Distributed Ledger Technology Security Study Project (Q14). ISO/IEC 27002 is a foundational standard for international Information Security Management System (ISMS) certification, and the upcoming blockchain-related research aims to contribute to certification standards in this domain.
